LTLC- Lutherville-Timonium Lacrosse Club- Girls
Girls Club Program
Over the decades, so many of the best Girls' Club players in Maryland started their journey in Clinic and Tyker for LTRC, but then moved to a Club program. Whether it was a more competitive environment, the need of all her teammates vested in giving their best, better coaching, or "her friends decided to leave", we hear your concerns and understand completely.
As one of the hottest areas in the country for lacrosse athletes, Lutherville has finally evolved and we now offer a Club Option for girls helping to fulfill our mission to having a place for everyone to play. This program will be eligible to all girls with a 2028 or 2029 graduation year. We will also follow this with our 2030s to become a club program at the conclusion of the 2021 Spring Season.
The boys-side of LTRC Lacrosse (LTLC) is now offering Club teams to the best players in each age group, and they play in a Club league and Club tournaments. Last year, we started Developmental Teams for the girls-side for the years 2028, 2029 and 2030 where they played indoor lacrosse last Fall and attended Winter training sessions. We will now have full Club teams for these ages (2028, 2029- with 2030 formation in 2021), and free tryouts (between June and July).

What is club lacrosse and how do we decide if this is right for our daughter?
We know that parents are looking for the best opportunities for their daughters based on several factors and we want to be honest about where we are as a program so you can make those decisions. We will say that while there is intense pressure for girls to:
join private club teams at younger and younger ages to “secure a spot for the future”,
access paid="better" coaches, and
compete at the highest level year round (prioritizing lacrosse over other sports); it is important to understand the pros and cons of these teams.
In fact, specializing on any one sport at younger ages is systematically rejected by all major sports’ governing bodies, securing spots on club teams doesn’t last when the club needs to improve its ranking and standing, and having kids sit on the bench just to be on elite teams, isn’t for everyone.
We want to offer a competitive high value program without the negatives associated with the private club experience while keeping our daughters playing with their class mates and for their community as well as a club.
We also want to educate and provide parents with some perspective as they look into more competitive options for their kids while dispelling the notion that private club teams are the only option.
